Being on the top has its perks. However, achieving the status of being one of the world’s most prominent celebrities has its downsides as well. Chart-topper Cardi B is undoubtedly one of those celebs that dwell in that realm of being on top. But the Bronx-born rapper just revealed that she just might be over it, no Summer Walker.
Cardi B is no stranger to being candid. Whether it be her social media or during interviews, expect Cardi B to speak her mind. Some would compare it to being meteoric as it pertains to her career. From her days on the reality show Love and Hip Hop: New York, Cardi B proved to be a breakout star. And even though she was building quite the fanbase from the television show, Cardi had already begun establishing her music career. Soon, Atlantic Records came knocking, and the mainstream singles started dropping.
Her breakout single, “Bodak Yellow,” began what would become quite a historic run for the rapper. Eventually, the debut single would bring Cardi B her first of multiple Diamond-certified singles. The majority of her follow-up singles were highly successful, including a critically-acclaimed debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Cardi B’s successes don’t only involve her contributions to music. Soon, you saw the rapper expand her resume as an actress, appearing with roles in Hustlers, F9, and the upcoming final installment of the Fast and Furious franchise.
With all of her success, endorsements would soon follow. Cardi B soon partnered with Fashion Nova, M.A.C., and Reebok. The rapper also appeared in various significant advertisements for Pepsi, which aired during the Super Bowl, and her own flavor of the brand Rap Snacks. Currently, the rapper serves as executive producer of her own show Cardi Tries, on Facebook Messenger. The rapper was also reportedly named the new creative director for Playboy in December 2021.
But with all of the apparent perks that celebrity comes with, not many would immediately think of the downsides. But according to the “WAP” rapper, things aren’t always as they appear. Taking to Twitter, Cardi B wrote, “I’m not even going to lie to y’all, being famous is kinda boring.”

Others exclaimed that if the rapper would release her long-awaited sophomore album, her life wouldn’t be as dull. One of her fans commented that they would take the riches of being a celebrity rather than being famous. “I believe it. If I just had the money that came with, It would be okay with being bored. Ngl I just need enough to pay my bills off and get me a mommy car that I can afford,” responded a user.
